Editor’s note: Cancellations and postponements that are made due to the novel coronavirus outbreak will be listed as a service to our readers. ¯Lenten fish dinners — hosted by Knights of Columbus, Saint Jude’s council, in Mifflintown will be postponed effective immediately.

¯Brick Saturday — Saturday mornings at Mifflin County Libraries, is suspended until further notice.

¯State parks — all educational programs, trainings, meetings, and public volunteer activities in March and April are suspended until further notice. Programs will be rescheduled if possible.

¯Yeagertown Senior Center — suspended bingo, dominoes and lunches until further notice.

¯AARP Foundation Tax-Aide services — suspended and remaining appointments canceled. The AARP will assess the possibility of reopening the program if the tax season gets extended.

¯State Sen. Jake Corman’s office — in-person visitors to district offices forbidden; staff available for phone/email.

¯State Rep. Rich Irvin’s office — in-person visitors to district offices forbidden; staff available for phone/email.

¯State Rep. Kerry Benninghoff’s offices — walk-in services suspended.

¯State Rep. John Hershey’s office — walk-in services suspended.

¯Juniata River Valley Chamber of Commerce and Juniata Valley Visitors Bureau — closed for a minimum of 14 days beginning March 16.

¯PennDOT driver, photo license centers — closed until further notice; driver’s licenses/learner’s permits, disability placards and/or vehicle registrations expiring on or before April 30 now do not expire until May 31.

¯Mifflin County Housing Authority administrative office — closed to public through March 31. All appointments and inspections will be rescheduled. For emergencies, call (717) 242-5546.

¯PA CareerLink locations — closed until further notice. Staff will be available to remotely assist as possible.

¯Fayette Township tax collector, Juniata County — Tax hours scheduled have been canceled. Per capita and real estate taxes should be mailed or deposited in outside drop box. ¯Port Royal men’s prayer breakfast– at Port Royal Community Center is canceled.

¯Soup, bake, rummage sale — At St. Paul’s (Erdley’s) Lutheran Church, 2337 Erdley Church Road, Middleburg, has been rescheduled for April 18.

¯Free community breakfast — Fridays at New Life Church, 101 N. Beech St., Burnham, is canceled at least through April 10.

¯Belleville Meals on Wheels — new tentative return date for meal service is Tuesday, April 14.

¯Cinderella’s Closet — at Evangel Baptist Church is closed until further notice; drop off days are also canceled until further notice.

¯Coffee with friends — Monday and Friday, Lack Tuscarora EMS, East Waterford. Suspended until further notice.

Wednesday, April 1

¯Lewistown High School Class of 1952 — at Burnham OIP is canceled.

Thursday, April 2

¯Burnham Fire Co. bingo is canceled.

¯VFW Post 5935 Belleville meeting scheduled for April 2 has been canceled. May 7 meeting still scheduled at this time.

¯Lewistown-Granville High School Class of 1967 luncheon — at Downtown OIP, Lewistown has been canceled. Next meal is May 6 at Sal-Lee’s Dream in Strodes Mills.

Friday, April 3

¯50th Antique Show & Sale — also April 4 at the Belleville Community Hall. An announcement will be madewhen it has been rescheduled.

¯Juniata Valley Home and Garden Show — also April 4 at Mifflin County Youth Park, Reedsville. If a makeup date can be arranged, that announcement will be made at a future time as circumstances allow.

¯Valley Rural Electric’s 2020 annual meeting — has been canceled. The co-op’s offices are staffed but lobby areas are closed to members and the public.

¯Blood drive — at Mount Union Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 is canceled.

Saturday, April 4

¯Square dance — at the Mexico Grange Annex, is canceled.

¯United Way of Mifflin-Juniata “Dancing With the Stars” — at Londonderry Restaurant, Milroy has been postponed until Aug. 29 at Body and Soul Community Center, Strodes Mills.
