Harrison Road losing 30 days for bridge replacement
Harrison Road closed
Harrison Road in Salt Creek Township will be closed between Apple Creek Road and Criswell Road for 30 days, beginning Tuesday, for a bridge replacement project, according to a release from the Wayne County Engineer’s Office.
The recommended detour is Leaman Road to Carr Road to Moreland Road to Criswell Road, and reverse. Detour signs will be posted.

Hiland prom, graduation dates set
Hiland High School release has set the dates for its prom and graduation.
Prom will be Saturday, April 23, at The Encore Hall, 4365 State Route 39, Berlin. The schedule will be 5:30-7 p.m. Moonlight Garden Dinner, 7-8 p.m. Grand March, 8-11 p.m. dance ad 11 p.m.-2 a.m. after-prom in the Perry Reese Jr. Community Center.
Graduation will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 29, at Perry Reese Jr. Community Center.
Dog obedience course to be held
Allan Bauman, the author of “Paw-sitive” Dog Training, will teach a dog obedience course at Smithville United Methodist Church, 243 N. Milton St., Smithville, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursdays, May 5, 12 and 19 in the Family Life Center.
The cost is $85 and includes his book. Proceeds go to the SUMC for community outreach programs. The class is limited to eight dogs. All family members are encouraged to participate.
