ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando International Airport welcomes the newest member of its team, Asterix.

Early this week, OIA tweeted out pics and introduced Asterix, its newly certified K-9 officer.

Asterix is a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois who is a smart, energetic, and versatile dog, according to airport officials.

Originally from the Netherlands, Asterix was trained by the TSA at their San Antonio-Lackland Canine Training Facilities before coming to Orlando.

Airport officials want to remind passengers that Asterix will be hard at work, so please don’t try to pet him, but if you happen to come across any of our MCO Paw Pilots, who are certified therapy dogs, feel free to show them all the love.
