Successful First Fun Dog Show
On 16th September, Newton Aycliffe Dog Training Club held their first fun show. There were nine fun classes, four fun Obedience classes, the Fastest Recall Competition, a ‘Have a Go’ Obstacle Course, and testing for the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Bronze Award.
The attendance was amazing, with dog owners from Newton Aycliffe and as far afield as Leeds coming to enjoy a day out with their dogs. All the class winners went into the Best in Show Class, which was judged by Phil and Marcia Atkinson of BTS Facades and Fabrications. The top partnership and Best in Show winner went to 10-year-old Sienna with Mustard the Golden Retriever, they had won the ‘Waggiest Tail’ class to qualify. The Reserve Best in Show went to Monica and Bruno, who had won the ‘Most Handsome Dog’ class.
Thank you to everyone who supported the show, Newton Aycliffe Dog Training Club members, before with the planning, and during the show with demonstrations. The stall holders who took a leap of faith to attend. The fabulous class sponsors. Everyone who donated raffle and tombola prizes, there were an amazing variety of prizes to be won. The judges, Michelle Dart of Heartdog Trainers who judged the Fun Classes; Hedda Timms, local Obedience dog show competitor and judge, who judged the Obedience Classes, and Mechelle Jacques, from Curlaball Dog Training for assessing the Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze Award.
There was a lovely happy atmosphere all day, thank you all.
Planning is already underway for next year.
